As the 2008-09 school year comes to an end, the Concord Academy Boyne high school prom takes place.  High school students start getting their tuxes and their dresses to prepare for the big night.  The mystical Masquerade Ball took place in the Boyne Mountain Snowflake Lounge in the Clock Tower Plaza, from 7:00-11:00pm.
The night before prom, the Junior class prom committee came in and decorated the room.
“My favorite part would be decorating; it was cool to see all of our hard work come together,” says junior prom planner Brianne Prins.
This year's 2009 Prom King & Queen was Sam Zielinski and Taylor Crandell.  Both of them said that if they won, they requested that their dance be the Chicken Dance.
“ I was actually excited to hear that they were going to do the Chicken Dance, because I knew how to dance to that one.  It's one of those songs that you don’t have to be a great dancer for; the movements are all ready set up for you so for a clumsy person like me it works out great,” says Mrs. Baughman, the junior class advisor.
Chaperoning prom definitely was a plus, because the parents and teacher that chaperoned got to see all of the students in their tuxes and dresses, a site that you normally don’t get to see, but on the other hand, Mrs. Baughman begs to differ.
“I am 8 ½ months pregnant and standing for like eight hours just doesn’t cut it.  But I did like seeing all the kids dressed up; they all looked beautiful,” says Baughman.
Prom was definitely was a hoot!  That was a night that everyone won’t forget!

Spring Baseball with Eddie Brook

Mr. Cole hosts baseball each spring for grades 7-12.  Everyone is a good sport and is eager to play.  I met with Eddie Brook down on the field; he is an eighth grader who loves the game.

Why do you like baseball?
Because it’s fun and energetic.

Have you been playing for a long time?
I’ve been playing out here for about two years.

Would you play another sport if baseball wasn’t offered?
Yes—ping pong! It’s my next favorite sport.

Do you like it better when the pitcher throws it over or under hand?
Under hand. It’s more accurate and easy to hit.

How do you feel when you run from base to base?
A little nervous because I don’t want to get an out.
