CAB High School Drama Production, "Robin Hood: The Next Generation"

On May 1, 2, and 3, Concord Academy Boyne will present its spring show, "Robin Hood: The Next Generation," written by Shirley McNichols. Based on the original production, our scene is set 20 years later, when Robin, the daughter of Robin Hood and Lady Marian, is ordered by the Queen to get married on her 18th birthday. Robin, who is a rough and tumble tomboy, has no intentions of giving up on her playful ways to take on the obedient role of a wife. She gets the Queen to agree that the winner of a sporting contest should win her hand in marriage. What the Queen doesn't know, however, is that Robin, played by Cearra Bennett, plans on disguising herself as a prince in order to win control of her future.

Having knowledge of royal competition, Robin knows that Prince Jared, played by Alex Nicholson, is favored to win the competition. She convinces her lady-in-waiting, Madolyn, played by Kathryn Irwin, to become her so she can compete at the games.

Across the forest, Prince Jared is having similiar thoughts, as he convinces his servant, Ambrose, played by Cody Nations, to compete as Prince Jared so the real Jared will loes and won't have to marry.

In the meantime, more plots arise to gain control of the throne, and the disguises continue until the characters can't keep track of who's whom. Will there be a royal wedding, or a royal disaster?
